Violet Wings by Victoria Hanley

This is a book I would love to see portrayed in a movie.  Definitely a book for girls though.  All girls love fairies.  I had never read a book specifically about just fairies so this was a treat.  Victoria painted this beautiful world where fairies come from and how they relate to humans.  It was such a great story.  Zaria is the main character who mysteriously becomes an orphan after her family goes missing.  No one knows anything about what happened to them.  At the age of 14, when fairies become of age and get their wands, level, and their watch, things start to change pretty quickly in her life. She starts breaking some Fey laws and things start unraveling even more when she finds out she is a Violet fairy, something that is unheard of.  You'll follow Zaria on her journey to out one of the high councilors evil goings on, her unlawful visits to earth, and your heart will break as she tries to cope with growing into an adult fairy without having her family there to support her.  She just might get a hint in the end that her family is still alive & there will have to be another book, but you'll just have to read the story to find out for sure!! Two thumbs up on this book, it was a great fantasy I would recommend to young girls.  But I must say that I did enjoy it too & will be hoping there will be another book to come soon.
Happy Reading!
