This book was weird, but in a good way. It was a little confusing in the beginning but once I got to know the characters and what was really going on, I really enjoyed it. Gotta be honest, not my favorite but it was a decent read. It resembled the movie The Ring a lot, but in a kid friendly version of course. There's an old well in a rundown town that 3 children have to steal coins out of in order to get home. In doing so it totally changes their lives in that they all get different powers that help them to grant peoples wishes. One has eyes that grow on his knuckles, one can control electricity (kindof) and the other can read peoples thoughts and uncontrollably says them out loud! They have to figure out what the heck is happening to them and it turns out there's a well spirit that lives in the well and was angry when they took her coins. So they're stuck granting peoples wishes until one wish is for blood and revenge. Two of the kiddos say thats it they don't want to do it anymore while the other is kind of going to the dark side. The story is very good. Sometimes it got a bit boring because there was so much descriptive writing that I don't think was needed. I would recommend it for maybe sixth grade and up for a kid, I don't really think a fifth grader would understand what was going on since it gets confusing at times. On to the next!
